Vanity chair to bulletin board
I found this cute little vanity chair at an estate sale and took the cushion off of the seat.
With the cushion removed the chair had the perfect size hole for a potted plant to fit in so it works perfectly in my back yard.
My granddaughter, who is also my partner in crime, then picked out this estate sale scarf, some ribbon and a button.
We then cut out a circle with cardboard to use for backing.
Carefully pulling the scarf material over the cushion to the back and using staple gun to secure it in place. Making sure that the material over the cushion is smooth and as tight as possible.
I then told her to postion the ribbon on the cushion as she wanted it to be. Using the staple gun to hold it in place on front where the button will go and then also on the back.
Making a braid out of the three colors of ribbon used we then made a loop and stapled it onto the back with enough at top to use for hanging.
With everything in it's place we then put the cardboard on the back and stapled it multible times around edges and down the middle to make sure it stays in place.
I then carefully sewed the button onto the front by hand.
The back is stapled and done.
It is now ready for my granddaughter to take home and hang it on her wall to use for a bulletin board!
